Georgian Intelligence Service is a special agency of the executive authority that is under direct subordination of the Prime Minister of Georgia. It has a distinct place within Georgia’s national security system. GIS is the main intelligence agency in the country whereas the Director of the GIS is the chief intelligence advisor to the Prime Minister.
